4 Quotes & Sayings By Camillo Di Cavour

Camillo di Cavour, born in 1758, was a prominent Italian statesman and the founder of the Italian political party known as the "Young Italy" or "Young Italy's" (Movimento Giovanile), from which the present-day Italian centre-right party of the same name derives. Di Cavour is known as a great Italian patriot and nationalist: his policy towards Germany and Austria resulted in an armistice with the Austrians and the creation of the Kingdom of Italy. He was also a leader in Italy's unification effort; he helped to create the short-lived Roman Republic (1849) and he was one of the five marshals who crushed Garibaldi's forces at Mentana.
